There have been comments from a number of past convention attendees that they have accumulated bags from past conventions and don't need an additional bag. This year the bag is offered as an option. Because of these comments, we decided to have convention bags as an optional purchase this year.
Sacramento is the state capital and was the terminus of the Pony Express. We are situated midway between Lake Tahoe and San Francisco, or for those of you who prefer a little excitement, between Reno and San Francisco.
If you like to immerse yurself in history, take a day tomeander through circo 1850s old Town Sacramento. There you will have access to the Sacramento History Museum and the California State Railroad Museum. You can shop or stop for a meal at any number of excellent restaurants.
The Sacramento International Airport is only 12 miles from the DoubleTree Hotel.
The Arden Mall is across the street from the hotel and hotel shuttles will provide transportation to and from shopping.
A little history:Gold was found at Suter's Mill in 1848. IT was one year later when the news got out and people fromall over the world came to the West Coast to find their fortunes. It was a rough trip whether by boat or wagon train. Many people died on the way out west and never saw their dreams fulfilled.
